Signart boosts productivity and scales sustainably with HPs compact, all-in-one Latex R530, empowering small businesses with high-performance rigid and flexible printing.

HP has officially launched the Latex R530 printer, a solution specifically designed for small and medium Print Service Providers (PSPs). This hybrid printer addresses common challenges in rigid and flexible media printing, including space limitations, high investment costs, and complex operational workflows.

Brisbane-based signage company Signart has already integrated the R530 into their production process, reporting improved productivity, reduced outsourcing, faster turnaround times, and enhanced sustainability. With over 25 years of experience, Signart provides signage solutions across sectors such as real estate, education, and government.

Many small and medium PSPs struggle to perform rigid media printing in-house due to high investment cost and complexity in operation. As a result, businesses often rely on outsourcing or face inefficient workflows that hinder delivery speed and consistency.

The HP Latex R530 overcomes these challenges with a compact design, single-phase power requirement, and the ability to consolidate rigid and flexible media production into a single device.

“The HP Latex R530 is designed for print businesses that want to do more with less – less space, less waste, and less operational friction,” said Craig Hardman, ANZ Country Manager, Large Format Printing at HP. “It brings powerful production capabilities into a compact footprint, making it ideal for small and medium PSPs looking to scale without compromise. For growing businesses like Signart, the R530 enables faster turnarounds, new applications, and greater control by supporting high-quality, in-house production of both rigid and flexible jobs. We are proud to support innovative Australian businesses embracing smarter, sustainable printing solutions and pushing the boundaries in signage and display.”

The hybrid R530 allows PSPs to print both rigid and flexible media in-house, minimising reliance on third-party outsourcing and avoiding logistical inefficiencies.

Signart faced increased demand and limited production space, making workflow efficiency critical. The Latex R530 enabled the company to:

• Bring more jobs in-house
• Streamline production
• Maintain control over quality and turnaround times

“The R530’s one-person operation, white ink capabilities, and hybrid media handling have transformed our workflow,” said Harjeet Singh, Production Manager at Signart. “It has allowed us to bring previously outsourced jobs back in-house, accelerate turnaround times, and manage larger, complex projects with confidence. Printing directly to rigid substrates and using white ink has cut hours of manual work and significantly reduced waste, such as backlit displays on acrylic sheets. With internal fabrication, we print directly onto pre-painted aluminium panels and apply our own topcoat for long-term outdoor signage. Previously relying on screen printing, we now enjoy on-demand printing with exceptional results even for minimal orders.”

The HP Latex R530 is designed with sustainability in mind:

• Uses UL ECOLOGO-certified inks
• Built with 25% recycled plastic
• Print direct-to-rigid printing to minimise waste while preserving fibre-based media recyclability
• Features automatic printhead cleaning to reduce downtime and material use
• Compatible with single-phase power for locations without three-phase electricity

As part of HP’s broader sustainability strategy, the company has expanded its Sustainability Amplifier Program to include large-format PSPs, offering tools and guidance for businesses to measure and improve their environmental impact.

HP supports efficiency further through the PrintOS Production Hub, a cloud-based platform that enables:

• Centralised job and production management
• Remote production control
• Real-time order management

This solution helps reduce operational bottlenecks and minimise errors across the large-format PSP market.

The HP Latex R530 is now available, providing a versatile, sustainable, and efficient printing solution for both rigid and flexible media applications.
