Bringing a Fantasy World to Life

Attack on Titan (AOT): The Exhibition introduces visitors to the rich characters, themes and intricate worldbuilding of a global cultural phenomenon.

“The exhibition is based on the best-selling Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. It showcases the visionary imagination and introduces the artworks of the writer,” said Ross Leo, Co-Founder and Executive Director of SL Experiences, a subsidiary of SPACElogic Pte Ltd.

“Through the exhibition, we hope to bring the writer’s story to reality,” he added.

Featuring over 150 of Isayama’s artworks ranging from the manga's earliest days to the present, Attack on Titan: The Exhibition will also showcase new pieces that have not been displayed anywhere else in the world, alongside drafts and sketches from his archives.

Only the highest quality prints

“With the high standards of Isayama-san and the AOT for this multi-awarded manga, we felt the need to deliver an experience that can exceed their expectations,” Ross Leo shared.

“For this exhibition, we used HP Latex ink, a water-based ink that is sustainable and resistant to scratches. As such, no lamination is required, and we are able to retain the brilliant colour and sharpness of the printed graphics.”

He adds, “Presenting this highly acclaimed manga series meant that SPACElogic had to ensure the artworks are of high quality. We chose to collaborate with HP not only because of the excellent print quality HP is known for, but also for its sustainable printing technology.”

Sustainability has always been a key consideration for SPACElogic, regardless of the exhibition it mounts.

Leo explains, “We strive to uphold sustainable techniques that not only elevate our exhibition, but also contribute to preserving the world for many generations to come.”

A strong partnership

“As a company, we collaborate with experts from various disciplines to co-create spatial stories, integrate visual aesthetics with technology, and in doing so craft out meaningful and engaging experiences,” said Augustus Peh, Managing Director of SPACElogic.

He recalls, “Our journey with HP started with the purchase of our first latex printer in 2017.”

Having experienced the benefits of latex printing technology, SPACElogic added more HP Latex printers to its portfolio, acquiring a HP Latex R2000 and two HP Latex L570 printers in 2019. Subsequently, another two HP Latex 800W printer series were purchased to take on more projects with higher efficiency in printing.

“HP has also been a tremendous support in terms of upkeep and maintenance of the machines, constantly coordinating with our production team to ensure that the printers are running at their maximum efficiency without compromising on quality and colour,” said Peh.
